Baku hosts a seminar on international carriage by rail

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Transport and the Intergovernmental Organization for International Carriage by Rail (OTİF) has launched a seminar on the topic of “International Conventions Concerning Rail Transport, OTİF Membership and COTİF Regimes “.
The Ministry of Transport said the seminar was joined by OTÄ°F Secretary-General Stefan Schimming, OTÄ°F Secretary-General Advisor for law, training, depositories and rail issues Eva Hammershmidova, and the Committee of International Rail Transport (CIT) Legal Adviser Erik Evtimov.
The purpose of the seminar is to discuss Azerbaijan’s acceding to the Convention concerning International Carriage by Rail (COTIF), facilitating the country’s access to the OTÄ°F, the launch of transport projects through Azerbaijan at their full capacities, implementation of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project and so on.
The seminar was also attended by members of the Azerbaijan State Railways Company, Ministry of Transport, the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economic Development, Finance, the State Customs Committee, State Border Service, etc.
