Baku cafÃ© murder suspects detained after attempting to flee from Azerbaijan

On September 20, two Azerbaijani citizens were detained while attempting to cross Bilasuvar border checkpoint on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border. Another person who helped them was also detained, the State Border Service told APA.

It was revealed that Aliyev Rovshan Natig assisted ex-inmate Aghayev Niyameddin Khanhuseyn and Hatamov Nureddin Nurmemmed, who were suspected of the murder committed in Lion café in Baku on September 18 and fled the scene, took them to Bilasuvar district by his car for their illegally crossing the border.

As a result of the vigilance of border guards, they were detained.

Investigation operations on the fact are going on.

Note that, the incident took place at 110 Nobel Avenue, Khatai district, on September 19.

While driving their BMW and KIA cars through Nobel Avenue, Aghayev Elmaddin Khanhuseyn oglu and his brother Aghayev Niyameddin had a dispute with Garayev Aladdin Malish oglu, the driver of an unidentified car.

During the dispute, Elmaddin Aghayev inflicted an injury on Aladdin Garayev and the latter died at the scene. Then the two brothers chased a biker who had witnessed the incident. So they beat him with a baseball bat and fled the scene.

Note that, Elmaddin Aghayev is a security guard for café “Lion”, while the murdered Elmaddin Garayev is said to have lived near the café. Elmaddin run away from the site in a BMW X5 which belongs to the café.
