The smuggling of narcotic substances into the country has been prevented, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA.
Measures to ensure the reliable protection of the state border and to combat the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors are successfully continuing.
In the service area of the “Lankaran” border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the State Border Service, the smuggling of narcotic substances from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented.
As a result of the border search and operational measures carried out, a total of 6 kg 848 grams of marijuana and 0.006 mg of opium were detected and seized.
Operational-investigative measures regarding the case are ongoing.
