Iranian citizens who organized the smuggling of narcotics into the country and their placement at various addresses have been detained as a result of a police operation, the Lankaran regional group of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA’s southern bureau.
As a result of measures carried out by officers of the Yardimli District Police Department, 30 kilograms of marijuana enriched with psychotropic substances were seized from the detained individuals — 23-year-old Hauri Gadirpuri and 26-year-old Suleyman Khezri.
A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident, and by a court decision, a preventive measure of arrest has been chosen against the detained persons.
Operations to identify other members of the organized group and their connections within the country are ongoing.
