Azerbaijan confirms landmine incident involving 43-year-old man in Aghdam

As previously reported, on December 17 a mine incident occurred in the territory of Chamanli village of Aghdam district, which has been liberated from occupation, APA reports.

The Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) issued a statement regarding the incident.

It was noted that Gadir Malik Mammadov, born in 1982 and a resident of Sarijali village, was injured as a result of the explosion of an anti-tank mine while plowing land with a tractor in an area along the former line of contact that had not been cleared of mines.

The injured person was evacuated to a hospital.

An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Aghdam District Prosecutor’s Office.

ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Prosecutor General’s Office once again urge citizens to observe safety rules, pay close attention to mine danger warning signs, avoid entering unfamiliar areas, and refrain from interfering in areas where fencing activities are being carried out.
