243 hectares of land have been cleared of mines in the liberated territories of the Gazakh district, ANAMA said in response to APA’s inquiry.
According to the information, mine clearance activities have been carried out in the liberated territories of the Gazakh district since April 2024. During the operations conducted, 243 hectares of land were cleared, and 1,065 anti-personnel mines, 108 anti-tank mines, and 54 unexploded ordnance items were detected and neutralized.
It was noted that the mentioned areas feature both difficult terrain and a high level of mine contamination. During clearance operations, anti-personnel mines are encountered most frequently.
