Lankaran. Ageddin Babayev-APA. A stone monument with the description of an extraordinary animal on it was found in Kosalar village of Lankaran region. At first sight the animal looks like a dragon. A crown was described on its head and the animal shoots out flames. Archeologist Javanshir Hasanzadeh told APA’s south bureau that the monument is at least 2000 years old. He considers that it is the emblem of the ancient Azerbaijani state Hirkan, which was described in the map of Ptolemaeus. The archeologist said that an underground tunnel (height 3m, width 1m) was found out during the excavations in this territory in 1988. He said that tense socio-political developments prevented from doing researches in the territory. The underground tunnel had four directions – towards north, south, east and west. The west part of the tunnel lies to the ruins of Bellebur castle which is located in 6km from the area.
