The next trial on claims of 300 students of Independent Azerbaijani University against Rector Abbas Mustafayev and Ministry of Education was held at Binegedi District Court presided over by Ahmed Sariyev. Students’ lawyer Intigam Aliyev said that the motions of the advocates were discussed at the trial. Though the court demanded a number of documents from the Ministry and the rector, no document was presented. The representative of the ministry Ilyar Vohabov said that they will agree with any judgment. The judge responded that the Ministry of Education should ensure the students’ transfer to other university. The date of next trial was set to Dec 21. Parliamentarian Sabir Rustemkhanli said that he will raise the issue at the Parliament on Dec 15. Students Rights Defense Committee member Vugar Suleymanov said that two representatives of the students were called to the ministry.
“We will act according to the results of discussions. The ministry of Education evades responsibility, so it delays the court. The first semester of academic year is about to finish. The ministry does not think about students’ transfer and education, he said. /APA/
