Arif Hajiliâ€™s appeal to attend his motherâ€™s funeral ceremony sustained

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. . The appeal of imprisoned deputy chairman of Musavat Party Arif Hajili on participation in the funeral feast of his mother Zahida Hajiyeva was sustained.

Deputy Minister of Justice, Chief of the Penitentiary Service, General-Major Madat Guliyev noted that the Head of State Ilham Aliyev positively responded to the prisonerâ€™s appeal and Hajili was allowed to attend his motherâ€™s funeral ceremony: â€œBy the order of Mr. President, Arif Hajili was allowed to go home. He was allowed to attend his motherâ€™s funeral ceremony for 7 daysâ€.

Hajiliâ€™s mother Zahida Hajiyeva passed away on May 30 after siege of illness. He addressed the Penitentiary Service for permission to participate in his mother funeral and his appeal was sustained.

Hajili was arrested during Public Chamberâ€™s rally held on April 2, 2011, and was sentenced to 2.5-years imprisonment.
