Assistant Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan: â€œKhadija Ismayilovaâ€™s claims against investigation are groundlessâ€

He noted that the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office received the official appeal on violation of Khadija Ismayilovaâ€™s right for privacy on March 14: â€œThe appeal was taken under special control by the prosecutor general and the tasks were given for investigating the moments shown in the application. The criminal case has been launched on March 15 on Criminal Codeâ€™s article â„–156.1 and the investigation of the case was taken to the Baku city Prosecutorâ€™s Office Investigation office. The investigative measures on the criminal case are being continuedâ€.

Isayev said that Ismayilova was questioned with the participation of her representative, her rights and duties were explained to her. â€œBut Ismayilova chose the investigation as her target from its first stages. Despite many investigative measures in a short time, she showed the insincerity, made groundless statements, tries to create a negative opinion in the society about the investigation. Her claims are groundless. By the way, the press service of the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office gave detailed information on it. But I underline once again that only non-confidential materials, which donâ€™t contain private information, were made public.â€

Ismayilova protested the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office spreading reports on the process of investigation launched on the basis of her appeal.
