Soviet-era construction materials will be replaced with highly energy-efficient insulation to achieve decarbonization, APA reports.
This is reflected in the document "Azerbaijan's Long-Term Low-Carbon Development Strategy."
It was noted that adequate insulation is required to improve the energy efficiency of heating and cooling systems. Taking into account old Soviet-era construction materials and their corresponding suboptimal standards, the installation of high-performance insulation materials that meet high energy efficiency standards will be required to achieve decarbonization.
By 2060, all existing and new buildings are expected to have optimal insulation. This will be achieved through the installation of high-performance insulation materials, such as advanced thermal insulation and double-glazed windows.
Improved insulation is expected to reduce heating and cooling energy demand and make a significant contribution to achieving net-zero emissions.
