Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has not ruled out the possibility of holding snap elections over amendments to the Constitution and the signing of a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, Armenian media reports.

According to Armenian media, the Prime Minister stated that the draft Constitution will be published soon, public discussions will begin, and the document will be submitted to parliament.

Pashinyan said they would try to convince the opposition of the importance of this issue and, if this does not yield results, they would consider other scenarios, including holding snap elections.

"We will try to convince our colleagues in the opposition that this is an important and fundamental issue in terms of ensuring the existence of the Armenian state. If this does not yield results, we will consider other scenarios, including the possibility of holding snap elections," the Prime Minister said.

He recalled that he had promised Armenian citizens to amend the Constitution and sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan.

"If the Armenian people want to see this promise fulfilled, we must accomplish it together with the people. If the people do not see this promise fulfilled, at some point it may be concluded that my political mission has come to an end. Therefore, this is a matter of principle for me," Pashinyan emphasized.
