Azerbaijani diaspora activist killed in Ukraine buried in his hometown Masalli

The activists of the Congress of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis, local officials of Masalli region, relatives and townsmen attended the funerals.

Igbal Mahmudov was born in Port Ilich, Lankaran region of Azerbaijan in 1978. Then his family moved to Masalli region. Mahmudov has been living in Ukraine since 1995. He graduated from Donetsk University Economics School and the International law and Business School of Kiev University. He has led the Donetsk organization of the Congress of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis since 2005. He won series of kickboxing competitions in Ukraine and sponsored many influential events. He was known as the person of good works. On May 9, before killing, he met with the veterans of Great Patriotic War to render material aid to them. Mahmudov was killed by unknown persons outside his cafÃ© â€œKaspiyâ€ in Makeevka. Ukrainian law-enforcement agencies launched criminal investigation into the fact of murder.
