Landslide area in Shemakhi monitored, residents evacuated

Shamakhi. Elvin Yagubov-APA.The specialists have examined landslide zone and damaged houses in Mughanli village. The specialists revealed that Mughanli village is the most active landslide zone in Azerbaijan. Chief engineer of the comprehensive expedition of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Shaig Niftiyev noted that in14 houses problems have been revealed and to live there is not possible, APA reports.
â€œCommision will be composed again and the buildings with splits as a result of landslides will be monitored. We have received around 50 information on damaged buildings. If landslide continues the number of damaged buildings will increase. The Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Emergency Situations were addressed officially. After receiving response letter, construction of the new houses for the residents will be started. Mughanli municipality allocated 5 hectares of territory. As a preliminary stage, residents of 14 houses will be rehoused. 9 families were evacuated to the houses of relatives today.
