Eldar Sultanov: The application filed by Khadija Ismayilova to the Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office was sent to the Interior Ministry for investigation

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office has issued a statement regarding Khadija Ismayilova, reporter of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Spokesman for Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office Eldar Sultanov said the application filed to the Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office by Khadija Ismayilova, reporter of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, was sent to the Interior Ministry for investigation.

Deputy spokesman for the Interior Ministry Ehsan Zahidov told APA that the ministry received Khadija Ismayilovaâ€™s application, the administration of the Interior Ministry gave instructions to the relevant agencies to carry out investigation.
â€œInvestigation will be carried out within the period determined by the law. Measures will be taken depending on the results. After the investigation is completed, the author of the application will receive a reply,â€ he said.

On March 7, Khadija Ismayilova received a letter that threatened and blackmailed her. The letter contained intimate photos and threats. On March 14, video related to Khadija Ismayilovaâ€™s private life was released on the internet on March 14.
