“As a result of the complex measures taken by the ministry last year, the terrorist attacks against the sovereignty and state security of the Azerbaijan Republic were successfully prevented. A group of persons having links to the foreign intelligence agencies, and preparing terrorist attacks against the foreigners in Baku was rendered harmless in January. Several wanted citizens of Azerbaijan, who were involved in the army units against the coalition forces in Pakistan and Afghanistan, were detained and made accountable,†Ali Shafiyev said.
