Fact of drug trafficking from Iran to Azerbaijan revealed

As a result of operations held by the Department for Combating Drug Trafficking, it was revealed that a group of the people, whose names have not been identified yet, illegally delivered a large amount of drug to Azerbaijan and gave it to resident of Yusublu village of Jalilabad region by the instruction of Mirhimayet Heydari who lives in Iranâ€™s Germi city, press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA. According to the information, as a result of operations, 12,7 kg hashish and 2,1 kg opium, which he buried in the ground, were found in the yard of Azer Hasanovâ€™s house and seized. During the preliminary interrogation, Hasanov confessed that he had to give these drugs to persons who will be sent by Mirhimayat Heydari and will receive USD 2,000 instead of it.

Criminal case has been launched into the fact under the relevant articles of Criminal Code and Azer Hasanov was arrested and brought to investigation. Investigative acts and search operations are being continued toward the determining other members of the criminal group and bringing them to the responsibility.
