Julian Green pulled one back for the United States on Tuesday, but the Americans still trail Belgium 2-1 in extra time in the second round of the World Cup.

 

Green scored for the Americans in the 107th minute.

 

Kevin De Bruyne gave Belgium the lead in the 93rd, finally getting a shot past U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard. Romelu Lukaku made it 2-0 in the 105th.

 

The match went to extra time after the teams went scoreless through 90 minutes of regulation play. There are two 15-minute halves in extra time. If the match is still even, it will be decided by a penalty shootout.

 

The game was briefly delayed when a man ran onto the field in the 16th minute.
