Moscow believes there was an agreement in Anchorage and remains ready to return to it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference following his participation in the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, APA reports.
The Russian-American summit took place in Anchorage in the summer of 2025.
"Everyone who's been following the situation is claiming that Europe is, so to speak, desperately seeking an opportunity to intervene in the process that the United States is encouraging. They encourage it intermittently, because either Iran gets in the way, or Palestine suddenly entices, or something else. Nevertheless, the United States is actively continuing its efforts. And I've already commented on what happened in Anchorage. We believe there was an agreement in Anchorage, and we remain ready to return to it. Meanwhile, Europe feels it's being left behind," Lavrov noted.
