US President Donald Trump hopes Ukraine and Russia will reach a deal before winter, Trump said in comments to journalists, APA reports.
Trump was asked whether he had spoken to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about Patriot missiles, but he responded by talking about a possible deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I spoke to him a lot, and he's going along, and Putin's going along.
Someday, hopefully in the not-too-distant future, maybe before the heavy winter, they'll make a deal."
Trump also said he wants Zelenskyy to reach a deal with Russia.
"You know what I want him to do? Make a deal. I want him to settle with Putin, and I want Putin to settle with him," he noted.
