Araghchi: Reopening Strait of Hormuz depends on Iran’s conditions being met

Iran will not withdraw its conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, APA reports.

“Our conditions are clear, and any progress toward reopening the Strait of Hormuz depends on their fulfillment. We will not back down from these conditions,” he stated.

Araghchi said Iran had seen the first response from the US president but had not yet received any message from the mediators.

“We are waiting for the mediators to convey the final positions to us, and we will make our decision accordingly. Our enemies have tried every possible path but failed to achieve results. There will be no solution other than one reached through negotiations based on dignity and justice and guaranteeing the rights and legitimate demands of the Iranian people,” he said.

The minister stressed that only a negotiated solution could end the current impasse.

“No one in the world can accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran of failing to pursue diplomacy. We have never closed the path of diplomacy and negotiations, but we have also never abandoned our rights,” Araghchi added.
