Real Sociedad lost 3-1 to Villarreal in a match of the 29th round of the Spanish football championship, APA reports.

The winning team's goals were scored by Gerard Moreno (7th minute), Georges Mikautadze (15), and Nicolas Pepe (23). Real Sociedad's Luka Sučić (47) scored.

Real Sociedad's Russian midfielder, Arsen Zakharyan, came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute and failed to score. This was the midfielder's 16th appearance in the Spanish league this season, with no goals or assists to his name. He also played in four matches of the Spanish Cup, scoring one goal.

Villarreal has climbed to third place in the Spanish league table with 58 points. Real Sociedad is in seventh place with 38 points. Villarreal will play Girona away on April 6, while Real Sociedad will host Levante on April 4.
