“Recent progress in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan is significant for both countries and the region as a whole,” Maka Bochorishvili, Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, said while addressing the ministerial-level meeting of the UN Peacebuilding Commission, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to her, a peaceful and predictable South Caucasus will create broader opportunities for economic development, investment, cooperation, and connectivity.
“Regional peace is of particular importance to Georgia. Our country is investing in infrastructure and connectivity that link the region to wider international markets. Stabilizing the situation in the South Caucasus will enhance these opportunities and contribute to the economic development of the entire region,” the Foreign Minister added.
