The implementation of the State Program marks the beginning of a new era, particularly in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, Chairman of the Board of AzerGold CJSC Zakir Ibrahimov said at a press briefing, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, precious and non-ferrous metal deposits located in Karabakh and East Zangezur are among the key priorities of the State Program: “As you know, mining operations have already begun at the Demirli copper mine located in the territory of Janyatag village of the Aghdara district, while production is expected to begin in the Kalbajar district in the near future. In the Zangilan district, work is underway to reassess existing reserves using modern geological methods, clarify the resource base, and carry out the technical and infrastructure work necessary for future production. As the head of state has also emphasized, there is significant mineral resource potential not only in Karabakh but also in the surrounding districts. Therefore, large-scale exploration work using the most advanced geological technologies has been launched, with the aim of identifying new deposits."
