Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu displayed a pager during his address to the UN General Assembly, recalling the operation targeting members of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, APA reports.
“Remember the pagers? I can tell you Hezbollah remembers them very well,” Netanyahu said during his speech.
Before his address, several countries’ delegations walked out of the hall in protest against Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip.
On September 17-18, 2024, a series of explosions involving communication devices occurred in Lebanon. Pager explosions on the first day killed 12 people and injured around 2,800 others.
The following day, explosions involving radios, phones and other devices killed 25 people and injured 608 others. Hezbollah blamed Israel for orchestrating the attacks.
