Georgia has always sought to act as an impartial mediator in regional initiatives, promote cooperation and contribute to peaceful solutions, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during his address to the UN General Assembly, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to him, the future of the South Caucasus should not be defined by the dividing lines of the past.
“Today, we see a real opportunity to turn a new page, based on joint efforts for a better future, and build a more peaceful and interconnected region,” Kobakhidze said.
He noted that this spirit of cooperation should also translate into tangible economic opportunities for the region.
The Georgian Prime Minister said that Georgia, as an integral part of the South Caucasus and the Middle Corridor, is well positioned to strengthen connectivity between Central Asia and Europe.
Kobakhidze added that amid developments in different parts of the world, preserving peace and strengthening international cooperation remain key priorities.
