Head coach of Qarabağ, Gurban Gurbanov, commented on the possible transfer of the team’s forward Nariman Akhundzade to a U.S. club, Apasport.az reports
Gurban Gurbanov stated at the press conference after the away match against “Shamakhi” in the 19th round of the Misli Premier League that serious negotiations are underway.
“We’re approaching the final stage. No final decision has been made yet. Even today after the match, a player came up to me and said he has a good offer: Do you want me to leave or stay? We’re trying to calm things down a bit. Similar news keeps coming in. I wouldn’t call it unpleasant—you have to understand the player as well. It’s just that the offers are coming from places where you would go only for the money. You can’t simply say ‘no’ to those. We’re doing our best to prepare the players well for the matches,” Gurban Gurbanov said.
Gurban Gurbanov also commented on the failure of Behlul Mustafazade’s transfer to China.
In response to the question, “To what extent did you play a role in Behlul Mustafazade not moving to China?”, the head coach said: “There were a few details involved. I spoke with Behlul himself and reached an agreement. I was on Behlul’s side. There are some details that don’t need to be gone into deeply.”
Note that in a statement released today, Qarabağ club announced that negotiations with the MLS (USA) representative Columbus Crew regarding Nariman Akhundzade have reached the final stage.
“An agreement has been reached between the parties. Under the existing agreement, permission has been granted for the 21-year-old forward to discuss the terms of a personal contract with the opposing side.
Additional information on the next stages of the process will be officially presented to the public,” the statement emphasized.
