The first leg of the Champions League playoff between Portugal's Benfica and Spain's Real Madrid to reach the last 16 was suspended due to racist chants directed at Real Madrid's Brazilian striker, Vinicius Junior, APA reports.
Vinicius scored in the 50th minute. He then ran to the corner flag and made provocative gestures toward Benfica fans. He then left the field, reporting the racist behavior to the referee.
The meeting resumed after 10 minutes.
At the moment the score in the match is 1:0 in favor of Real.
