Armenian team captain Sarkis Ovsepian: We will not be forgiven, if we beat Portugal, but lose Azerbaijan

â€œThey will not forgive us even if we beat Portuguese team and lose Azerbaijan,â€ Armenian national football team captain Sarkis Ovsepian told, APA-Sport agency reports. Sarkis Ovsepian who had 86 matches in the national team said his team should prepare very well for every match.
â€œTaking into account political situation, matches with Azerbaijani national team are different. But from the aspect of football to beat strong Portugal team would bring good reputation to our team,â€ he said.
The captain did not agree to the reports about Armenian football playersâ€™ avoiding the match. He linked the teamâ€™s weak match with lack of star players.
â€œIf we did not struggle, we would have lost with 0-5 as Azerbaijan team,â€ he said.
He said Azerbaijani national team did not expect the victory over Finland team with score 1-0 and added that it was a chance.
We watched the match over the Internet. Finland team had number of chances to score Azerbaijan. There are lots of such cases in football. That we could not leave Finland even with draw is also fortuity. We should not have lost Belgium in our territoryâ€ he said.
Sarkis Ovsepian is inclined to think the most key factors in the Azerbaijan â€“Armenian standoff will be psychological- moral condition of teams. He said the game would be sharp and Armenianâ€™s victory over Azerbaijan is vital.
The games between Azerbaijan and Armenia are to be held on September 8 and 12. /APA/
