Carlos Alberto Torres: I hope Azerbaijan achieve good result in match against Poland

â€œI hope Azerbaijan will achieve good result in the match against Poland this timeâ€?, former head coach of Azerbaijani national squad Carlos Alberto Torres, who lives in motherland Brazil, told APA-Sport.
Though he didnâ€™t predict the score of Azerbaijan-Poland match to take place March 24 in the frame of European championship qualifying, he said he believes two-year-ago defeat in Warsaw will not be repeated. At the match in March, 2005, Azerbaijani squad under Torresâ€™s leadership suffered a 0-8 defeat in Warsaw. Torres neither confirmed nor ruled out the rumours that it was a provocation of players.
â€œActually, I donâ€™t want to return back. I donâ€™t want to comment on the rumours about the provocation. I can only say the rival played well and scored 8 goals. But we failed to answer them with not even oneâ€?, he said.
Torres thinks Azerbaijani national squad needs young players in order to achieve good results.
â€œThe team needs young players. This is the only way for Azeri football squad to succeed. This is my opinionâ€?, he underscored.
Torres stated that he would be delighted to train Azeri squad again if he is invited. /APA-Sport/
