Azerbaijan Football Federations Association (AFFA) is not going to appeal to the UEFA Appeals Court on long-term disqualification of Sergey Sokolov, defender of national squad and Karabakh club by the decision of Discipline Committee. Nevertheless, AFFA leadership sent a letter to the UEFA, APA-Sport reports.
The letter asks to explain why AFFA should pay penalty of 8,000 Swiss francs because of betametazone preparation found in Segey Sokolov’s blood. AFFA also requested the UEFA to specify who will pay the penalty. UEFA Discipline Committee hasn’t specified whether AFFA, Karabakh football club or player himself should pay the fine.
Sergey Sokolov has been suspended for 18 months on the decision. /APA-Sport/
