Azerbaijani President attends opening of Sinigkorpu border customs point

According to APA, Chairman of State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev informed that, Azerbaijanâ€™s customs sphere develops, as other spheres. Customs services modernize.

Construction of new customs point has finished in October, 2010. Reconstruction and improvement works have been conducted during the construction. Along with subsidiary buildings, 3-floor buildings also have been constructed in the area of point. Hundreds of cars and thousands of passengers pass through the point. Such of modern customs points are only in Azerbaijan among the Southern Caucasus regions.

President was informed that, new cargo terminal will be built in the future. Refrigerating storages, hotels, including office will be constructed in the terminal.

There are classrooms on trainings for staffs in the official building of point. These rooms have been supplied with most important and modern technical equipments.

Besides, there is X-ray apparatus in the area of point. This creates opportunity to see the cargos clearly.

There are 4 customs control line in the point. 2 of them are for export. Other 2 are for import. Single window system has also been established in the point.

The President was also informed about the Sinigkorpu historical-architectural monument. According to information, this monument was constructed in 12th century and used as checkpoint connecting Azerbaijan and Georgia.
