Romania welcomes US missile defense system in its territory

Bucharest - APA. Romania agreed to deploy US missile defense system in its territory. Romanian president Traian Basescu said that his government received official request by the US president Barack Obama, APA reports. The president said new system would be put into operation in 2015. According to the agreement, medium-range missile will be deployed in the country. President Basescu said the system would "protect the whole of Romania’s territory", but stressed that it "is not directed against Russia".
