Qatar out of World Cup after losing 3-1 to Bosnia

Qatar's national football team was knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2026 after it lost 3-1 to Bosnia and Herzegovina and finished fourth in Group B, APA reports.

The first goal of the game was scored by Bosnia and Herzegovina's Kerim Alajbegovic in the 29th minute, closely followed by an own goal by Qatar after a volley shot by Bosnia's Edin Dzeko was deflected in only five minutes after the first goal. Although the Bosnian team led the majority of the first half, Qatar managed to score a goal in the 42nd minute by the team's captain, Hassan Al-Haydos. In the second half of the game, it was Bosnia's Ermin Mahmic who scored the final goal of the game, leading his team to a third place in Group B.

While Qatar is now officially eliminated from this year's World Cup, Bosnia and Herzegovina still have a chance to be among the eight third-placers who move to the next round.
