BP gave 1.3 bcm of associated gas to Azerbaijan in H1

Baku. Yegane Lachinzade - APA-Economics. We gave 1.31 bilion cubic meters of associated gas free of charge to Azerbaijan in the first half of 2016, Gordon Birrell, BP's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia said.

According to him, seismic explorations in the Caspian Sea are about to come to an end: “17 ships have been involved in these explorations and 200 km² area has been explored. Information will also completely processed by the year-end”.

Birrell added that 77% works on Shandeniz 2 have been completed: “We signed contracts worth $15 billion for our operations. 10 wells have been drilled so far. 24,000 employees joined these operations from Azerbaijan. 80% of these amployees are Azerbaijanis”.
