In January–September of this year, Azerbaijan refined 4.5 million tons of oil, which is equal to the figure for the corresponding period last year and represents a 2.2% decrease year-on-year, APA-Economics reports, citing the Ministry of Energy.
Recall that Azerbaijan refined 6.2 million tons of oil last year, representing a 6.9% increase year-on-year.
Note that oil in Azerbaijan is refined at the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery, which was established in 1953. The refinery fully meets the country's demand for petroleum products. Reconstruction and modernization works are currently underway at the refinery.
