Volume of electricity produced at the Garadagh hydroelectric power station will reach 1 billion kilowatt-hours

Since the Qaradagh Solar Power Plant (GES) was put into operation (26.10.2023), it is expected that by October 26 of this year, 1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity will be produced here, Javid Abdullayev, the director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy, told journalists, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, "Masdar" is one of the country’s main partners, and one of the projects cooperated on with the company was the construction project of the Qaradagh Solar Power Plant.

Javid Abdullayev emphasized that on October 26, it will be two years since the Qaradagh Solar Power Plant (GES) with a capacity of 230 megawatts was put into operation, and by that date, the volume of electricity produced at the plant is expected to reach 1 billion kilowatt-hours.

“When we put the plant into operation, our expectations were that half a billion kilowatt-hours of electricity would be obtained annually. Most likely, by October 26 of this year, we will witness the production of a total of 1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity here,” Javid Abdullayev emphasized.
