A massive fire broke out at the Omsk oil refinery in Russia's Omsk region, located 3,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, following a drone attack, APA reports.
Governor Vitaly Khotsenko confirmed the attack and announced that a drone threat alert had been issued across the region.
According to reports, two explosions were heard on the refinery's premises, and smoke was observed rising above the facility.
It should be noted that the Omsk oil refinery is one of Russia's largest oil refining facilities and is owned by Gazprom Neft. The refinery has an annual oil processing capacity of approximately 22–23 million tons.
