Three people were killed and seven injured in Russian drone attacks on Kyiv on Thursday, with a four-story store in the capital’s Solomianskyi district hit by a UAV, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said, the Kyiv Post reports.
The strike sparked a fire in the non-residential building, where emergency crews later found two bodies.
Authorities have not identified the store. However, a Kyiv Post correspondent near the site said it is believed to be the OLDI construction and building store, a smaller home-improvement retailer similar to Epicentr.
Russian drones, including jet-powered UAVs, were reported heading toward Kyiv as air defenses operated over the capital. Klitschko urged residents to remain in shelters.
Earlier Thursday, another Russian attack killed one person and injured five in Kyiv, according to Klitschko. Four of those wounded were hospitalized after debris fell in an open area in the Holosiivskyi district.
