The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office is seeking the extradition from the Netherlands and several other countries of members of the International Criminal Court (ICC) leadership who are wanted by Russia, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

Extradition requests have been sent for nine people, including ICC President Piotr Hofmański and Prosecutor Karim Khan.

The Prosecutor General’s Office said that although Russia is not a member of the ICC and does not recognize its jurisdiction, the court has unlawfully prosecuted Russian citizens.

It should be noted that in 2023, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova.
