If Iran is indeed planning to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the issue may be raised during a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
It should be noted that Russia has stated that it does not want Iran to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that official Moscow considers the treaty a cornerstone of the nuclear non-proliferation regime.
Recall that a meeting between the presidents of Russia and Iran is planned on the sidelines of a summit dedicated to the ecology of the Caspian Sea in Turkmenistan.
