A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population with Dmitry Shlapachenko, the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, the ministry told APA.
It was noted that Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan attaches particular importance to close and sustainable partnership with the UN. He expressed confidence that D. Shlapachenko would make valuable contributions to the further development of this cooperation during his tenure in the country.
D. Shlapachenko expressed satisfaction with the effective cooperation established between UN agencies and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population in the process of social reforms carried out in Azerbaijan and in providing support to socially vulnerable groups.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the Framework Document on Cooperation for Sustainable Development for 2026-2030 signed between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the UN. Within the framework of this cooperation, views were exchanged on joint work to be carried out in various areas of the ministry’s activities, particularly in the development of human capital, promotion of decent working conditions, and strengthening of the social protection system.
