A 40-member delegation from the world-renowned international travelers' club MTP (Most Traveled People) has visited the city of Shusha as part of a trip to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, APA's Karabakh bureau reports.

The delegation is led by Charles Veley, an American and the founder of the MTP club.

The international travelers first viewed the bullet-damaged statues of prominent Azerbaijani figures Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli in Shusha's central square.

They were informed about the history of Shusha, the condition of the city during the occupation, as well as the restoration and reconstruction work carried out following its liberation.

The guests were told that during the 30-year occupation, historical buildings, mosques, and other cultural monuments in Shusha were subjected to destruction and vandalism. Following the liberation of the city, large-scale restoration and reconstruction work began, and projects are being implemented to restore its historical and cultural heritage and historical appearance.

The travelers then visited the Lower Govhar Agha Mosque, Sadigjan's house-museum, the house of Khurshidbanu Natavan, the area where the Khan Gizi spring is located, and the fortress walls of Shusha.

At the end of the visit, the guests arrived at Jidir Duzu, where they enjoyed panoramic views of Shusha.

It should be noted that this is the 17th group visit organized by various international travelers' clubs to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur between 2021 and 2026. Such visits provide international travelers with an opportunity to see firsthand the restoration and reconstruction work being carried out in the liberated territories.
