Mine explodes in Jabrayil, person grazing livestock injured - UPDATED

A man born in 2000 who was injured as a result of an explosion in the Jabrayil district was hospitalized at Fuzuli District Central Hospital at around 15:10 on October 8, 2026, TABIB told APA in response to an inquiry.

It was reported that he was diagnosed with traumatic amputation of the upper one-third of the right forearm together with the hand, traumatic amputation of the lower one-third of the left lower leg, as well as a severely lacerated and crushed wound of the entire right thigh extending to the pelvic region, with extensive tissue loss.

The patient underwent surgery and was provided with the necessary medical services. He is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit. His condition is assessed as serious.

A landmine explosion occurred on October 8, 2026, in Dagmashanli village of the liberated Jabrayil district, APA reports.

The information was released by the press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).

Orkhan Ashraf oghlu Gahramanov, born in 2000 and a resident of Jabrayil district, stepped on an anti-personnel mine while grazing livestock in an area that had not been cleared of mines. As a result of the incident, Orkhan Gahramanov sustained bodily injuries of varying severity.

The Jabrayil District Prosecutor's Office is investigating the incident.

ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office once again urge citizens to comply with safety rules, pay close attention to mine warning signs, refrain from touching suspicious objects, avoid entering unfamiliar areas, and not interfere with areas where fencing activities are being carried out.
