The SPE Caspian Technical Conference kicked off today in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
The three-day event is hosted with the support of SOCAR and is dedicated to the theme “Learning from the Past, Innovating Today, Inspiring the Future.”
The conference brings together government representatives, industry experts, and technology company delegates working in the Caspian region’s energy sector.
The program includes an opening ceremony, the presentation of SPE regional awards, high-level plenary sessions, and more than 20 thematic panels. Key discussion topics include digitalization, the use of artificial intelligence, enhancing the efficiency of mature fields, energy security, and sustainable supply.
Speakers from major global companies — including SOCAR, bp, SLB, TotalEnergies, Baker Hughes, Chevron, Halliburton, and others — are scheduled to address participants.
A technology exhibition is being held alongside the conference, where companies are showcasing new engineering solutions and technological innovations shaping the future of the energy industry.
The event will run through November 27.
SPE — the Society of Petroleum Engineers — is an international organization uniting 132,000 specialists from 146 countries. It develops professional standards, creates educational programs, supports technical communities, and serves as a platform for knowledge exchange. SPE has offices in Calgary, Dallas, Dubai, Houston, and Kuala Lumpur.
