Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan should work toward implementing the “6 economies – 1 product” formula by creating joint production chains, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the opening of the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Central Asia in Awaza, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Turkmenistan reports.
According to him, ordinary trade in goods between the countries of the region is no longer sufficient, and common final products should be created on the basis of production chains involving several states:
“When a joint product is produced, stronger ties are formed between our economies than through ordinary commodity exchange. The ‘6 economies – 1 product’ formula well reflects the essence of the goal we should set.”
The Uzbek President proposed holding a “Central Asia–Azerbaijan” business forum in 2027 in order to develop cooperation in this direction.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also emphasized the importance of continuing work to improve the regulatory and legal framework governing the activities of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan.
He noted that at the new stage of economic cooperation, special attention should be paid to joint industrial and technological chains, common digital services, as well as investment mechanisms that enable the faster implementation of major projects.
