Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Central Asian countries increased by more than 50% last year, President Ilham Aliyev said during his speech at the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Central Asia, APA reports.
The head of state emphasized: “Today, more than 400 companies with capital from Central Asian countries are actively operating in our country. In recent years, Azerbaijan has established joint investment funds with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The capital of each of these funds amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars.”
The President of Azerbaijan noted the need, first of all, to make more active use of the opportunities of these investment funds for the implementation of joint projects, the establishment of new production facilities, and the expansion of industrial cooperation. “We should not limit ourselves only to increasing mutual trade, but should also invest, produce, and enter foreign markets together,” he added.
