A joint venture has been established between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to prepare a feasibility study for a project to lay a fiber-optic cable line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea, said Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov, APA reports, citing Kazakh media.
"The venture has now been established and the feasibility study has been financed. Two banks, including the Asian Development Bank, have supported this work. After the feasibility study is completed, the exact cost of the project will be known and decisions will be made," the minister noted.
Recall that the energy cable to be laid along the bottom of the Caspian Sea is intended to connect the energy systems of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan.
