British company sharply increases forecast for gold production in Azerbaijan
# 10 October 2025 09:52 (UTC +04:00)

The British mining company "Anglo-Asian Mining Plc.," operating in Azerbaijan, has increased its gold production forecast for 2025 to 25,000–28,000 ounces, the company told APA-Economics.

It was noted that against the backdrop of the commissioning of new mines – the Gilar and Damirli deposits – the annual production volume of "Anglo Asian" will increase significantly. The company has also raised its copper production forecast for this year to 8,100–9,000 tons. Compared to the actual results of 2024, these indicators represent a 87% and 24-fold increase, respectively. Last year, the company produced only 15,073 ounces of gold and 377 tons of copper.

The increase in production will raise the company’s turnover to 125–140 million US dollars, and its revenues from core production activities (EBITDA) to 40–50 million US dollars.

The company stated that production at the Damirli deposit began in July and the plant is close to reaching full design capacity. At the Gilar deposit, extraction is being carried out from high-quality zones — the ore contains 3.5–4% copper and 2 grams of gold per ton. For this reason, a second automated filter press has been installed at the "Gedabek" flotation plant, and work on the expansion of the plant is ongoing.

"The high-quality ore is currently being stockpiled and will be processed at the expanded plant in early 2026. This will have a positive impact on the production figures for both 2025 and 2026," the statement added.

It should be noted that “Anglo-Asian Mining” is engaged in production in Azerbaijan under a PSA (Production Sharing Agreement) signed on August 21, 1997. Under the agreement, Azerbaijan holds a 51% share, while "Anglo-Asian Mining Plc." holds a 49% share.
