In the future, new working methods need to be used in hydrocarbon extraction in the region, said BP’s regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye (AGT), Giovanni Cristofoli, during his speech at the SPE Caspian Technical Conference, APA-Economics reports.
“We cannot develop the hydrocarbons of the next 30–40–50 years in the region the way we did in the past 30 years. We need to change our working methods and avoid complacency,” the regional president noted.
According to him, technical challenges are becoming more acute, and the supply chain is becoming more complex.
“The main challenge is not to continue working the way we have in the last 30 years. I believe there is a special ‘magic formula’ in this region — the ability to build strong partnerships,” Giovanni Cristofoli emphasized.
